About the Film
Sondheimer, Louisiana. Population 200. This rural enclave is home to the Nelson Brothers: four young, ambitious, Black, fourth-generation commodity farmers who dream of being the biggest farmers in the United States.
The year ended in a terrible harvest: climate change, equipment failures, and rising costs have led to countless setbacks. This was the second year of poor harvests and the Nelsons know they cannot afford a third.
With the new year, the Nelsons get an opportunity to farm more land than they’ve ever had. This year will be make or break for the Nelson brothers. Will their determination and passion pull them through, or will their ambition backfire?
